Real World Parabolas

A real world parabola is the McDonald's Golden Arches.

Golden-Arches.jpg

The original idea was thought up by Dick McDonald. George Dexter constructed the arches. The arches currently serve as the logo for McDonald's. The first arches made in the current likeness was made in 1962. The Golden Arches are found all over the world along with various McDonald's restaurants.

A couple of parabolas in Charlotte, NC are some random satellite dishes on our roof.

These satellite dishes were constructed and distributed by Dish Network in early 2004, are on my roof, their purpose is to have television available to my household and were most likely made in a factory.
